About Us

Welcome
ACE members are writers, editors, photographers, graphic designers, videographers, electronic media producers, marketing and public relations practitioners, researchers, Web developers, database programmers, distance education specialists, educators and managers. We work in universities, government agencies and research organizations in the public sector, as well as companies and firms in the private sector.

ACE develops professional skills of its members to extend knowledge about agriculture, natural resources and life and human sciences to people worldwide.

Our purpose
To use the skills of the members of ACE to help build the communication capacities of employees of agricultural, food and related support agencies throughout the world, especially in developing nations, so that their clients can live healthier and more fulfilling lives. Our service to international colleagues and the impact of that service

ACE members are willing to share skills and information via in-country workshops, and workshops at annual meetings which are typically held in the US or Canada. We believe that being able to communicate effectively with clients will help them change their behaviors more rapidly and thus reap the benefits of new learning faster – this is our projected impact.

* Provide international opportunities and professional development, including study, research, internships and study tours.
* To liaison with other ACE SIGs regarding international initiatives specific to their areas of interest and to provide a forum of discussion regarding international programs.
* To assist with ACE programs, conferences and events.

To identify grants, endowments and other funding sources to strengthen the international programs of ACE.

Becoming a charter country
To create a charter affiliate organization, one needs to identify a counterpart organization or group of organizations in the affiliate country. That organization or group of organizations would then meet to select an individual who would be the affiliate director. That individual becomes the official representative to ACE, and must also be a regular dues-paying member of ACE on behalf of his or her organization. As a part of the process of establishing an affiliate, the affiliate organization and ACE leadership would also draft a work plan and memorandum of agreement that specifies in some way the goals and objectives of the collaboration. Once signed, the affiliate director and his/her organization develop procedures for affiliate members.
